UNICEF Cambodia
Multimedia Storytelling
UNICEF Cambodia brought me on in 2016 to shoot two of their major programs. After meeting with the team lead to map out a strategy, we decided the photographs would be supplemented with video slideshows that highlighted the amazing work of their tireless local staffers. The work was used in internal communications and disseminated to media.

Day in the life of a social worker
In a country desperately lacking healthcare professionals, UNICEF's social worker program is a key way to help vulnerable community members get the support they need. Because of the sensitive nature of their work, shooting this required working closely with the social worker and community members, to make them comfortable, while adhering to strict standards of ethics for UNICEF communications.
Making the slide show
The commission was based around a two-day shoot, which also required audio interviews. Additional days where allowed for post production.
Accelerated learning program
Most Cambodians earn their livelihood from agriculture, which means children often miss school to help with farming. UNICEF's accelerated learning program helps students in rural areas catch up on missed school, improving graduation rates and future prospects. I worked with UNICEF to identify a key character to highlight the impactful program, then spent four days following 11-year-old Lim Heang and his family to show the improvements the program had made in their lives.
